In addition to Sunday School, St. John's offers a variety of music, sports, scouting, and other group activities for children in a nurturing, encouraging, and caring Christian envirionment. Furthermore, our nationally accredited Preschool Plus program provides exceptional child care and early childhood education by a highly qualified and trained staff.
If you are interested in your child becoming part of the children's ministry at St. John's, please contact us at 883-9717. If you would like to volunteer with Children and Family Ministries, please fill out this information sheet and return it to the church office.

Sunday School Programs
GAP - Grades 5 & 6:
GAP is a Sunday School class for 5th and 6th graders that meets at 9:30 AM in Room 262. Kids discuss relevant ways to apply Biblical lessons, and talk about age-appropriate issues with their classmates and teachers.
Kingdom Quest - Grades K-4:
St. John's United Methodist Church is proud to offer this extremely exciting faith education program for children. In Kingdom Quest, children rotate with their grade group through dynamic leaning stations as they study a monthly bible story. The curriculum engages children with meaningful activities that encourage participation and interaction. Our current stations include art, music, cinema, science, and drama. Classes meet upstairs at both 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM. Please check the bulletin boards or the sign at the top of the main stairs for the location of your class each Sunday.
Preschool Sunday School - Ages 3 through pre-K:
Preschool Sunday School is specifically designed for children ages 3 through pre-Kindergarten. Every Sunday, this program provides children with a hands-on approach to learning God's Word. The Preschool Sunday School meets in Room 140 at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM.
Little Lambs Nursery - Infants through Age 3:
Our highly trained and caring staff is available to shepherd our little lambs (infants - 3 years old) during every worship service. In addition, the Little Lambs Nursery is offered during some other church meetings and functions. Age appropriate activities and developmentally stimulating toys help our little lambs enjoy their nursery experience. Pagers are available so parents can worship without worry. All Nursery workers are CPR certified, background checked, and have undergone Safe Sanctuaries Training.

Kid's Bible Club
Offered every Wednesday during Wednesday Night Live, from 5:45 PM to 7:00 PM, Kid's Bible Club offer students age 4 through 5th grade the chance to dive into learning more about God's word. Each class begins with music in Room 242, then the kids are split into age-appropriate groups. Come early, at 5:00 PM, for dinner in the Family Life Center. Adults eat for $8, and kids are free with a paying adult! No reservations are required.
NewSound Children's Choir Program
(for children age 4 through 5th Grade)
NewSound provides a weekly opportunity for children to discover and develop their innate musical abilities. NewSound participants engage in both choral and instrumental music, as well as learning about the Christian faith. The individual choirs sing in Sunday morning worship several times throughout the year. Preschool Plus
(for children 12-Months-Old through Age 4)
St. John's offers a nationally accredited week-day preschool for children ages 12-months-old through 4-years-old. Each one of our highly qulified and trained staff is Red Cross First Aid and Child CPR certified. In addition, each staff mamber completes 24 hours of continuing education each year. Summer Activities
Sacramento Methodist Assembly: Sacramento Methodist Assembly offers camps for kids of all ages, and registration is going on now! Mark your calendars for camps starting in mid-June and running through the beginning of August. Kids in second grade through graduating seniors are welcome. Life-changing activities include devotionals, prayer groups, and lots of camp activities, like archery, music, fishing, and more! Other Programs

"Share Your Knowledge" Tutoring Program (Free Tutoring Program for Grades K through 12):
Monday nights from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM in Room 241, our staff of volunteer tutors will work one-on-one with your child to help him or her reach their academic potential in any subject from K through 12th grades. Tutoring is free, and there is no pressure to join the church or make any other commitments. For more information, please contact Cliff Renschler at 281-1797 or c_renschler@msn.com.
Parents' Night Out:
On the second Friday of every month, from 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM, parents have the opportunity to go out while their kids come to St. John's to play games, do craft projects, and eat pizza. Parents' Night Out is supervised by our nursery staff, who are all CPR certified, background checked, and highly trained. The cost is only $10 per child ($7 for the second child in a family, and $3 for each additional child in the family). Registration forms for your child's first visit to Parents' Night Out are available here, and in the main office. Call 883-9717 to reserve a spot.
