TAI CHI
Thursdays at 10:00am in the family life center

Join us on Thursday mornings for a gentle exercise class! Tai Chi Chih - Joy Through Movement is a set of 20 movements that are easy to learn. It is not a martial art, but rather, is mindful, slow, flowing movements. It does not require a particular level of physical fitness or coordination and may be done standing or seated (with some modifications). No special clothing or equipment is needed. All age groups are welcome to join us.

This class meets every Thursday in the Family Life Center from 10 - 11 a.m. Classes are $3 (payable by cash or check upon arrival).

Mountain Cathedrals Hiking Group
Hikes Announced Monthly Across Albuquerque

Mountain Cathedrals is a monthly hike in and around the Albuquerque area ranging from 2-6 miles. Each hike includes reflections on scripture, prayers and communion. Hikes vary in difficulty and in location. For more information read the latest edition of our e-newsletter.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 9 HIKE: Youth Group Joint Moonlight Hike

The firmament is as present now as it was in Biblical times, although it seems we pay far less attention to it now. Let us set aside an evening to gaze at it and wonder, share stories about it, contemplate Scripture, share Communion, and watch the moonrise from Tecolote Peak (near the base of the Sandia Ski Area).

Meet at the St. John's UMC (Albuquerque) east parking lot at 6:45 p.m., or at the trailhead (Google Maps: Tecolote Trailhead) at 7:30. Plan to be back at the parking area by 9:45 and St. John's by 10:15. The hike is easy to moderate (2.4 miles, 318 feet elevation gain), but it includes some rocky trail. Bring headlamps/flashlights, a snack, a parka, stories, and enthusiasm!

Please join us for this hike of meditation, wilderness, and time apart from our normal schedules.
