Starting May 4, join us at St. John's UMC on Sundays at 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. for our spring study on Proverbs: Pathways to Wisdom by Dominick S. Hernández. The book of Proverbs is a book written for people like us—parents, children, friends, and coworkers. It's a collection of biblical sayings and wisdom that are intended to help us with practical matters in our lives. Inside we encounter the wise and the foolish, and instructions for the journey to find the wisdom that comes from God alone.

Proverbs: Pathways to Wisdom explores the context, language, and interpretation of the book of Proverbs. Each chapter covers well known verses and examines prevalent themes throughout the book. From the fear of the Lord to the Woman of Valor in Proverbs 31, Hernández explores an array of verses and reveals literary and historical details that supply profound insight into familiar passages.

Next Class in Fall 2025
6:00PM - 7:30PM

“What is special about being a Methodist?” “What is going on at St. John’s?” “Where do I fit in?” These are key questions that newcomers ask about our church and we are having a class to discuss the answers. Visitors and new members are the primary focus for the class, but those who have been around awhile may want to reorient and re-energize themselves by entering the discussion. It's a great place to get to know others at St. John's as well.

The class will take place on four consecutive Sunday evenings in February and March. The first class will start Sunday, February 23, 2025, and we’ll end on Sunday, March 16. We will meet in Rooms 149/151 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m., get to know each other and discuss the topics of our Christian faith, Methodism, St. John’s, and more.

To register for the class, sign up in the Hospitality Center or contact the church office.
